Dr Max Mongelli is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Sydney, Australia. He holds the Best Established Researcher Award by Nepean Medical Foundation and has written more than 85 articles in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He also co-authored a book on fetal growth with Professor Tambyraja named “The Low Birth Weight Baby” in Singapore. He has worked in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and in Singapore for six years.

He received many distinctions and prizes for his research and studies therefore he has a long list of academic and professional qualification in his tenure. Max Mongelli was a brilliant student. He completed his schooling from Drummoyne Boys’ High school. He gained his undergraduate medical training from the University of Sydney which was followed by specialist and clinical research training in the NHS, United Kingdom. In 1987, he moved from Sydney to University of Auckland to obtain the diploma of Obstetrics and then in 1996 he was awarded the degree of DM (Doctor of Medicine) from the University of Nottingham.

Dr. Max Mongelli is a well-known teacher. He started his teaching career as a Tutor in Histopathology at Sydney University. He contributed to curriculum development for undergraduate medical and non medical courses. He designed an undergraduate module in Evidence-Based Medicine in National University of Singapore (GEM 1503M). This module was aimed at non-medical undergraduate students with an interest in Evidence-based Medicine.

In 2002 Max Mongelli was appointed as a Chairman of Organizing Committee for Biennial Scientific Meeting of the Perinatal Society of Singapore. e was also Member of Organizing Committee for 5th & 6th Refresher Course of Obstetric & Gynecological Society of Singapore. He has served as a convener at National University Hospital Perinatal Postgraduate meetings and as a treasurer for Perinatal Society of Singapore.

Dr Max Mongelli also contributed to the development of the software for the customized antenatal growth charts, which are now widely used in the NHS and overseas. His other research interests include clinical applications of computer modeling, biostatistics and evidence-based medicine.

Talking about intimate my matters kept me away from seeing a doctor. Then I heard about Dr. Max Mongelli from my sister and even though I was reluctant, after my first appointment he really changed my mind. I was at ease and he attended to my fears with utmost professionalism.

I was initially very hesitant to meet Dr. Max Mongelli. After all, it was my first pregnancy. But after meeting him for the first time, I knew we had made the right decision. He is highly attentive and throughout the pregnancy listened to all my complications. Finally, on 12th of June 2016, I gave birth to a healthy daughter. She is almost three months old now. Thank you, Dr. Mongelli and his team for all the care and comfort!
